Founded by a husband and wife duo in Seattle, Washington, they knew they wanted to provide people with quality skincare, without all of unnecessary additives and bring it back to basic, natural ingredients. A whole lotta love goes into these products, and a whole lotta things that are good for you!

What makes them sustainable?

Everything! They are completely aware of the impact their ingredients, packaging, and shipping have on the environment and aim to reduce their impact wherever they can.

Do they have ethical policies in place?

Yes! They have the stamp of approval from PETA with their Cruelty-free and Vegan certifications. Mostly all of their ingredients are sourced at home in the USA and they have a good work culture.

Is their shipping carbon neutral or sustainable?

There is no evidence of carbon off-setting or carbon-neutral shipping.

Is their packaging sustainable or recyclable?

Herbivore Botanicals package their products primarily in glass and paper, using recyclable plastic only where absolutely necessary. Always trying to reduce their footprint further, they are looking into ways to reduce and 100% eliminate all virgin plastic from their packaging by 2025!
